IP Summer Academy, annually held by the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property (RSAIP), has opened in Sochi. This year, special attention is paid to the Eurasian IP integration and the regional system of IP registration.
The opening ceremony of the Academy was attended by the President of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) Grigory Ivliev and representatives of a number of IP offices of the Eurasian region. Head of Rospatent Yury Zubov, Director of the National Patent Information Center of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the Administrative Council of the Eurasian Patent Organization Mirzo Ismoilzoda and a representative of the State Agency for Intellectual Property and Innovation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Mustapakulova Aisullu made welcoming remarks and keynote speeches. RSAIP Rector Alexandra Arakelova and Head of the Department of IP Protection at Sirius University Andrey Moskvich also addressed the Summer Academy online.
The lectures of the first day started with the speech of the EAPO President focused on the trend to a single Eurasian patent and expert space. During the lecture the speaker exchanged questions and suggestions with the audience. The EAPO President Grigory Ivliev presented a book “IP Transformation in Current Environment” with a memorable autograph to the most active participant of the discussion.
This year, more than 70 participants from Russia and CIS countries became students of the Summer Academy. The lecture marathon will run until July 8, 2022.
