Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media virtually hosted the 6th BRICS Communications Ministers Meeting on 17 September 2020. The Russian delegation was headed by Rospatent Deputy Director Yuri Zubov.

Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization Francis Gurry also joined the meeting. He delivered a welcoming speech and participated in the plenary session entitled Global Digitalization: New Paradigm of Modern World Order.

Among other topics, the participants discussed the issues related to the digital economy and Internet trust system development. They also shared their experience of cooperation with global Internet companies. The discussion was followed by the adoption of the final declaration.
